Preventative Visits

We see children at regular intervals. These are extremely important for the welfare of each child. During each visit, we assess your child's growth and development, provide a thorough physical examination, update immunizations and address all general and health-related questions, including questions you might have regarding your child's growth, development, nutrition and behavior.

First newborn visit should be scheduled 2-3 days after discharge from the hospital unless the hospital doctor recommends a sooner appointment.

Well Baby, Well Child, and Teenage Physical visits

Well baby visits are scheduled at 1, 2, 4, 6, 9,12,15 and 18 months.

Well child visits are scheduled at 2, 3, 4 and 5 years. After your child starts school we recommend a visit every other year, usually at 7, 9 and 11 years.

Teenage physicals are usually scheduled every year until 18 years, or every other year if your insurance does not allow for annual visits.

Please call our office at (860) 456 1279 to schedule your child's Preventive visits well in advance.

If your child's preventive visits are up to date, you do not need additional or separate visits for Camp or Sports forms to be completed by our doctor.

Sick Visits

We offer same day appointments for acute illness or injuries. Appointments are made based on the severity of the illness or injury and your convenience. Please call as early as possible in the day for same day appointments. We do not accept walk-in visits.

We also schedule appointments for chronic illnesses and behavior problems. We work closely with Pediatric Sub Specialties to provide prompt referrals for subspecialty evaluations and coordinate your child's care. We also offer advice and immunizations for international travelers. These usually require an appointment.

Meeting Expectant Mothers

We offer free visits to expectant mothers. At these visits, you may come to see our office and meet our doctors and staff. Please call our office to make an appointment to meet our doctor(s), and to answer any questions you might have about our office and the care of your newborn.

Immunizations

Immunizations are provided at regular intervals as recommended by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Immunizations are usually part of the services provided during the Preventive visits.

If your child needs immunizations only, please call our office to schedule an appointment. Immunization-only visits are approved by the pediatrician before the immunizations are given.

Phone Advice

During regular office hours, our office medical staff will answer your telephone questions. We welcome your questions and will do our best to answer urgent problems quickly and make necessary appointments for your child.

After Hours Triage

After office hours, our on call service provides phone advice for urgent referrals. We work closely with other pediatricians in the community to provide 24 by 7 telephone advice on all urgent referrals/care for your child.

In the case of a life threatening emergency, you should go immediately to the emergency room at Windham Community Memorial Hospital (WCMH) 112 Mansfield Ave. Willimantic, CT 06226, or the Closest Emergency Room, or Dial 911.
